Ultrashort lasers

Ultrashort-pulse lasers generate picosecond or femtosecond pulses with high peak power. Their short pulse duration enables controlled energy deposition and limits heat diffusion, making them suitable for applications requiring high precision and a reduced heat-affected zone.

These lasers are used for micromachining, ablation, precision cutting and drilling, the processing of glass, ceramics, sapphire, semiconductors and sensitive polymers, as well as ultrafast spectroscopy and material-dynamics research. The configuration should be selected according to wavelength, pulse energy, pulse duration, repetition rate, average power and stability requirements. APEL Laser provides source selection, application testing, integration, installation and service.
