CO₂ Lasers
CO₂ lasers emit in the infrared, typically at wavelengths between approximately 9.3 and 10.6 µm. These wavelengths are strongly absorbed by many organic and non-metallic materials, making the technology suitable for cutting, marking, engraving, drilling and surface treatment.
Applications include the processing of polymers, films, wood, paper, cardboard, textiles, rubber, composites and selected technical materials. Selection should consider wavelength, power, continuous or pulsed operation, material absorption, charring, edge quality, fumes and required processing speed. APEL Laser can supply the CO₂ source, optics and processing head and integrate them with motion, extraction, cooling, control and safety systems.
