Laser safety eyewear for 532/1064 nm systems | Laservision

Laservision eyewear for systems with 1064 nm fundamental emission and a visible 532 nm harmonic. One pair can cover both wavelengths only when the filter’s complete marking meets the parameters of each beam.

Description

Frequency-doubled Nd:YAG systems may place a visible green 532 nm beam and invisible 1064 nm radiation in the same controlled area. Selection must address each emission independently, including any residual or alignment beam that remains accessible.

F18P1P17 is a representative Laservision multi-wavelength configuration. The manufacturer lists M LB8 at 532 nm and M LB8 at 1064 nm, EN 207 protection and approximately 25% visible light transmission. The F18 frame can be worn over prescription spectacles. These data describe the stated configuration and do not replace a calculation for the user’s laser.

Information required for selection

  1. wavelength or wavelength range, including harmonics and alignment beams;
  2. continuous-wave power or pulse energy, pulse duration and repetition rate;
  3. beam diameter, divergence, working distance and reasonably foreseeable accessible exposure;
  4. operating mode and protection marking required by the risk assessment;
  5. visibility, colour recognition, prescription-eyewear compatibility and comfort requirements.

SAFETY NOTE: Wavelength alone does not define suitable eyewear. Never look directly into a beam, and do not use PPE as a substitute for engineered controls.
