PURPOSE
To develop a system for positioning and compensation of unwanted vibrations and movements for terminal systems in laser-based technology used in medicine, by a consortium consisting of an SME (APEL LASER -CO), a national institute (ICPE-CA -P1) and a university (UPB -P2).
OUTCOME
We have developed a model of a laser scalpel with laser diode and optical fiber that has the possibility of active compensation of random vibrations of the surgeon’s hand. Eight scientific articles have been developed and have been published or are in progress. Eight papers have been presented at International Conferences. Two patent applications have been filed. One patent is at an advanced stage of publication.
