Spinning Drop Video Tensiometers \u2013 SVT Series<\/strong>
The spinning drop video tensiometers of the SVT series are specialized optical instruments for measuring extremely low interfacial tensions and rheological properties. This measurement technique offers unmatched possibilities for analyzing the efficiency of surfactants in the development of emulsions or in enhanced oil recovery processes.<\/p>\n

The SVT 25 spinning drop video tensiometer is a compact optical instrument for determining low and ultra-low interfacial tensions, as well as the rheological properties of interfaces. High precision and reproducibility of results are guaranteed by a well-established measurement technique and high-quality mechanical and optical components. Thanks to modern electronic components, the SVT 25 can be operated intuitively via the TP 50 control panel.<\/p>\n

For an efficient measurement procedure, the measuring cell with the rotating capillary is mounted on a tiltable stage, allowing the operator to easily bring the drop of interest into the camera’s field of view. The fast lens with 6.5x optical zoom and integrated fine focus allows the analysis of both small and large drops.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the high-performance camera with USB 3 interface, the spinning drop can be analyzed with exceptional resolution. Fast processes, for example during oscillation experiments, can be captured at up to 3250 frames\/s. Once detected, the drop is automatically tracked by the movable camera.<\/p>\n

An extremely dynamic drive system ensures uniform rotation even at high rotation speeds, up to 20,000 revolutions\/minute. Additionally, it allows sinusoidal changes in rotation speed for oscillation measurements and rapid steps in rotation speed, with a maximum acceleration of 500 revolutions\/s\u00b2.<\/p>\n

Samples can be quickly placed in the SVT 25 thanks to quick-change capillaries, which ensure a perfect fit. This guarantees the highest testing rates. To avoid complex cleaning procedures, disposable glass tubes with corresponding holders can also be used. The observation windows of the SVT 25 measuring cells can be easily removed by loosening just two screws and are easy to clean in case of contact with the sample material.<\/p>\n

Temperatures in the thermally controlled measuring cells can vary between -30\u202f\u00b0C and 180\u202f\u00b0C, allowing the recreation of various environmental conditions. Thanks to a specially designed capillary, which allows tolerance to higher pressures, the SVT 25 can even be used with water-based solutions at temperatures up to 130\u202f\u00b0C.<\/p>\n
